Dbs Bank IFSC Code News:

1st April, 2017 Goods and Services Tax “appears challenging”

Radhika Rao, an Indian economist and Vice president said that in the second half of fiscal 2017-2018, Singapore-headquartered DBS Bank expects full roll out of Goods and Services Tax (GST) system in India. The deadline, April 1, 2017 seems quite challenging to us. Constitution amendment Bill must be passed by half of the state assemblies. After the Rajya Sabha nod to the Bill, Rao said that the state government also has to pass the State GST bills.

Rao described the passage of bill as positive development and simultaneously said a short term negative effect will be there, particularly on inflation as a result of GST implementation but this bitter medicine is necessary. If any economy takes up GST in the first year of implementation, then that indicates inflation has raised.

Rao also said that before deciding on any revision of GDP growth forecast for the year 2017-18 for India, she would wait for clarity. DBS Bank had projected GDP growth rate of 7.9 percent for 2017-18 in March this year. The India GDP growth for 2016-17 at 7.8 per cent was also pegged by DBS Bank.

The Reserve Bank of India is expected by DBS Bank is called to keep policy rates unchanged at the upcoming monetary policy review on August 9. She also saw that the July Consumer Price Index , that is to be released in August comes close to 6%.
