About Central Bank of India

Central Bank of India is a government-owned bank in India. It is one of the oldest and largest commercial banks in this country. Its headquarter is based in Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra. The Central Bank said it would raise a capital of Rs 3000 Cr


The Central Bank of India said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange that it has determined to increase the Rs 3000 Cr of capital by the way of the equity sales. In an explanation the bank said that the equity sale might involve various options such as a private placement, a rights issue or a follow on the  offers in public. The spokesperson told that they include the private placement, QIP or qualified institutional placement accompanying the allotment. The shares were seen being traded on Thursday at the value of Rs 107.20/- at a high of 0.05 % from its previous close. There were talks that the Central Bank of India put up one of the double banks including Dena Bank, that can  be converged into the Union Bank of India.
